Let’s all run to the plot-holes

Ever noticed how, in scary movies, they never show you the point of view of the killer? Or how they often use newspaper clippings to tell the story that the writer couldn’t work into the dialogue on the count of what a talentless hack he (or she) is.

I recently saw House of Wax and, though it was quite good for a horror movie, it didn’t take much prodding and questioning to determine just how full of plot holes the movie was. For instance:

1. How did the killers get food for all these years?
2. Why are there no bugs in Lousiana?
3. What’s with the hair? If he’s going to wax people’s eyebrows off, why not shave their head?
4. How did the guy put hair back on the wax figures? Furthermore, how did he put fur back on the animals at the pet store? Have you ever tried gluing hair on?
5. How did the killers (or anyone, really) make a house entirely out of wax? Wouldn’t a hot day have messed up the roof?
6. Furthermore, if it lasted that long, how was it so easy to melt? The guy used hot wax and had a fire (and candles) and everything running non-stop for almost a decade!
7. Is it possible for someone to throw something through two windows and still manage to impail Paris Hilton in the forehead?

I could go on, but I’d prefer not to ruin more of the movie for you. And besides, I’m biased. I see no purpose to horror movies.
