A puzzle (part II)
By Pixel at July 20, 2006 at 7:32 pm. Filed in sillyIn my continuing series of sequels to posts that just don’t lend themselves to sequels, I have come up with a new puzzle for you all to wrack your heads on.
This, if you’ll recall, is the original puzzle (I use ‘original’ lightly):
You are faced with two guys: Ni and Nii. One of them always lies, one of them always tells the truth. You have one question. With that question you must find out who the liar is, who the truther is, and what their names are.
Here is the updated, pixelated version:
You are faced with three guys: Ni, Nii, and the reincarnated body of Johannes Kepler. One of them always lies, one of them always tells the truth, the other lies and tells the truth alternately. You have one question. With that one question, you must find out who the liar is, who the truther is, what their names are, where they went to high school and Demi Moore’s bra size. Furthermore, you cannot use the letter ‘w’ in your question and must phrase it as a limerick.
P.S. Kepler has a wicked German accent.
Solutions should be posted as comments to this post.
The death of spam
By Pixel at July 20, 2006 at 3:24 pm. Filed in commentaryI once had an e-mail address I’d use for everything. This was back in the day where they gave you about fifty megabytes and expected you to deal with it.
This was back when hotmail was HoTMaiL. This was before hotmail was owned by MSN, back when it was a new concept to be able to check your e-mail using simply a Web browser.
After some time, this e-mail grew full and I had to make a new one (or pay a pittance for more storage space).
I corresponded for years from that e-mail address until I grew tired of MSN’s crappy service, terrible layout, and the fact that my inbox was constantly full of SPAM.
I switched and only rarely did I check the e-mail. I hadn’t checked it since March (approximately 134 days ago), so my spam was overflowing when I checked it right now.
I had 1,614 SPAM e-mails. I only had two from friends… and they were both forwards.
I think it’s time to retire that particular e-mail address. I wish I could save all my old correspondence, but I suppose it’s out with the old, in with the new.
pixelqstyx@hotmail.com, it was nice knowing you.
