This year I’m going to go back and finish up all of my old resolutions that I never accomplished. Here’s the list:

  1. Go back to Australia… even if I have to sell my blood to do it
  2. Read my weight in books
  3. Go to at least one concert, one roadtrip, one vacation, one date, move twice, and talk to at least three strangers
  4. Finish the Great American Novel
  5. Save someone’s life
  6. Buy furniture, even if it’s just a bean bag
  7. Memorize five more poems, pi, or learn the nations of the world
  8. Paint/fix my car
  9. Make a new true friend, but be a good friend to all the old
  10. Probably something having to do with women… or cantaloupe
  11. Produce a comic… or at least paint something
  12. Buff out
  13. Get a job
  14. Be a grad student
  15. Sell my car / buy a new one
  16. Help my cousin emigrate
  17. Write 100 works of necroautobiographical microfiction
  18. _______________ Audience may fill in the blank here.

… wow. After looking over my past list of unaccomplished resolutions, I sort of hate myself.

  2. New Year’s resolutions are bad for self-esteem. They’re a recipe for failure. That’s why I always aim high, so I don’t feel so bad about not keeping them. You know, things like:

    1. Overthrow the government and restore democracy
    2. Get a law passed to require certification and standardized testing for home schooling.
    3. Disarm the Toy Industry
    4. Start commitment proceedings against Dr. Dino and succeed.
    5. Win an Olympic medal (This would require finding a former medalist who is addicted to gambling, down on his/her luck, and a rotten card player).

Happy New Year Pixel. Throw a rock at the sun!

  3. ok, this was a double-post. The first one took its sweet time showing up, after a couple of 404s and a refresh. Wordpress and I do not seem to get along too well.

  4. I have a good, one question standardized test for people that were home schooled: “How do you tell if a girl likes you?”
